Field Work In The New Normal

COVID-19 has altered civilization as we know it throughout the world, resulting in socioeconomic impacts that will last for years. In the midst of terrible catastrophe, everyone's primary worry should be and should be their own and others' health.

Several academics are facing extra obstacles as a result of the epidemic, such as a reduced employment market, missing scholarship and travel grants, and the added stress of working from home. Fieldworkers are especially vulnerable to research disruptions, since worldwide travel restrictions, frozen travel funds, and at-risk local communities render previous models of international research logistically and ethically unsustainable in the near future.

Here in the Philippines, the common careers that require field work are:

  • Logistics
  • Sales
  • Security
  • Healthcare
  • Construction
  • Staff in the Food and Beverage Industry
  • Traffic Personnel
  • Government Staff
  • Bank Staff

And more.

Since working in the field is unavoidable here are a few tips to make sure that you are safe despite being physically present at your job:

  1. Wear Protective Gear

First and foremost, make sure you are appropriately dressed before entering the field. For people in the construction industry, hard caps and safety glasses are clearly required. In the healthcare industry, PPe's or "personal protective equipment" is required along with eye protector and face masks.

  1. Improve your Hygiene

Since going outside is unavoidable, you would be exposed to all different types of bacteria and viruses. The first thing you should do is have a disinfectant spray by your side at all times for when you come into contact with something or someone. When you go home, dispose your clothes immediately, do not mix it with the dirty clothes of other people that you have staying with you at home. Immediately take a bath afterwards.

  1. Take your Vitamins and Eat Healthy

As a precaution, and as a way to help boost your immunity, you should take Vitamins as a part of your daily diet particularly Vitamin B, C, and D as well as zinc. Eat healthy fruites and vegetables to help protect you from illnesses

  1. Use Third Party Logistical Partners

The goal of third-party logistics services is to help carriers enhance their efficiency.  Be it through bettering operations, cutting costs, or reducing risk. In summary, partnering with a 3PL should make your supply chain operations easier for you.

You may redirect some of your time and attention into the things you do effectively by having a 3LP partner. If you switch from managing all of your shipments to using a 3PL, you'll find that you have a lot more time to focus on the parts of your business where you excel. Ultimately, this should result in increased productivity or the discovery of efficiencies in other parts of the organization.

Here in the Philippines, the known services offering 3PL services are Transportify, Lalamove, Grab, and NinjaVan. With the case of Eclectus Technologies Inc, we have our very own logistics solution called "LARGA" which is now being used by early adaptors in the FMCG and Retail companies.

  1. Use An Effective Tool That Does Most Of The Work For You

Nowadays, you no longer have to go to the office to time-in, file request, and make reports that causes logistical problems. With Capataz(link the website to this word), you can do all of those tedious tasks in your mobile phone wherever you are which will save you lots of valuable time and money.
